About Appletfab LLC
From the founder: “I'm a big fan of audiobooks -- especially while commuting or exercising. I'm also a huge fan of LibriVox, but wasn't satisfied with the way that existing apps and websites organized and played the books. Aplt1 addresses many of these issues, with more features in the works.”
Aplt1 is our first 'little app'.
Objective: “To make all books in the public domain available, for free, in audio format on the internet.”
Librivox is a non-commercial, non-profit and ad-free project, with a loose and open structure, and welcomes volunteers from across the globe, in all languages. Most text comes from Project Gutenberg; audio files are hosted for free by the Internet Archive.
LibriVox and mobile apps
Although some apps include 'LibriVox' in their name or description, neither Aplt1 nor any other app is produced by or affiliated with LibriVox.

About the Public Domain
Public domain books no longer have any copyright restrictions, so they can be used by anyone for any purpose. Books published in the USA prior to 1923 are public domain in the USA. Certain books published in the USA between 1923 and 1977 became public domain if their copyright was not renewed. In much of the rest of the world, books published by authors who died more than 70 years ago become public domain (with some exceptions and details that vary by country). LibriVox servers are hosted in the USA, so follow US law.
“If you are not in the USA, please verify the copyright status of these works in your own country before downloading, otherwise you may be violating copyright laws.”
